Senior Legal Counsel • Major Tech Company • 🇸🇬 Singapore

Our client is a global large IT business operating in every country of the world. Their global Head of Legal is seeking to hire an experienced technology lawyer to be based in Singapore.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded legal team that is central to a dynamic technology business in a varied commercial legal role.

You will join the company in a commercial legal role working closely with the business units and supporting them with the following activities:

  • provide support to APAC sales teams by providing commercially practical legal advice, while containing legal risks
  • draft and negotiate complex and large SaaS/outsourcing agreements, balancing between commercial and legal stakes, as well as identifying and clearly communicating any legal risks.
  • daily exposure to customers (major international organisations) and senior management
  • working closely with the company’s legal teams around the world.
  • work on all phases of deals, ranging from the proposal/bid review stages, through to final negotiation, escalation to senior leadership, and dealing with any post signature issues, claims, and litigation
  • support product and commercial organisations on emerging technologies (AI, Blockchain, Biometrics), advising on legal risks and supporting the preparation of appropriate template documentation
  • mentor junior lawyers
  • share legal knowledge and experience to the wider legal team.
  • act as strategic negotiator for complex transactions in APAC and globally.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of PQE in private practice or in-house position in a multinational corporation
  • Ideally qualified in a common-law jurisdiction
  • Experience in IT/SaaS/outsourcing agreements, as well as knowledge of data privacy issues.
