A fast-growing global SaaS company, operating across more than 20 countries, needed an Employment Counsel to join its international legal team.
The role would provide day-to-day and strategic employment law advice to the HR team, executives and managers across a wide range of jurisdictions.
The companyβs largest employee populations were in Germany, Spain, India and the US, so the successful candidate needed genuine experience advising on employment matters in an international, multi-jurisdictional environment.
The brief covered a broad range of employment issues, including hiring and terminations, employee rights, pay transparency, discrimination and other sensitive workplace matters. The role would also advise on confidential investigations, employment disputes, global employment initiatives, policies and employment-related agreements, working closely with both internal stakeholders and external counsel.
They were looking for someone who could operate as a trusted, practical legal adviser rather than simply provide technical legal advice β someone able to work with senior stakeholders and non-legal teams, explain complex issues clearly, exercise sound professional judgement and navigate different legal and cultural environments.
The hire
We identified and placed an Employment Counsel with extensive international employment law experience, including advising businesses across multiple jurisdictions and working on complex employment matters in a multinational environment.
She is bilingual in German and English, bringing the German language capability specifically required for the role alongside the international employment law experience the client was seeking.
The result
The successful candidate joined the companyβs global legal team, bringing the combination of international employment expertise, German language skills and practical in-house experience required to support a growing, multinational workforce.
